Only the MIND is capable of error. The body can ACT erroneously, but this is only because it is responding to mis-thought. The body cannot create, and the belief that it CAN, a fundamental error, produces all physical symptoms.

It should be emphasized again that the body does not learn, any more than it creates. As a learning device it merely follows the learner, but if it is falsely endowed with self-initiative, it becomes a serious obstruction to the very learning it should facilitate.

Cần phải nhấn mạnh lần nữa rằng cơ thể không học được, cũng như nó không sáng tạo được. The body is the ego’s home by its own election. It is the only identification with which the ego feels safe because the body’s vulnerability is its own best argument that you CANNOT be of God.

This is the belief that the ego sponsors eagerly. Yet the ego hates the body because it does not accept the idea that the body is GOOD enough to be its home. Here is where the mind becomes actually dazed. Being told by the ego that it is really part of the body and that the body is its protector, the mind is also constantly informed that the body can NOT protect it. This, of course, is not only accurate but perfectly obvious.

Therefore the mind asks, “Where can I go for protection?” to which the ego replies, “Turn to me.” The mind, and not without cause, reminds the ego that it has itself insisted that it IS identified with the body, so there is no point in turning to it for protection. The ego has no real answer to this because there IS none, but it DOES have a typical solution. It obliterates the QUESTION from the mind’s awareness. Once unconscious, the question can and does produce uneasiness, but it cannot be answered because it cannot be ASKED.

This is the question which MUST be asked:“Where am I to go for protection?” Even the insane ask it unconsciously, but it requires real sanity to ask it consciously.


Cơ thể là ngôi nhà của cái ngã bởi chính lựa chọn của nó (cái ngã). Đó là thứ nhận dạng duy nhất mà với nó cái ngã cảm thấy an toàn, bởi lẽ sự mỏng manh dễ bị tổn thương của cơ thể là lý lẽ tốt nhất của nó đưa ra để nói rằng ngươi KHÔNG THỂ mang tính Chúa được.

Đây là niềm tin mà cái ngã nhiệt liệt ủng hộ. Thế nhưng cái ngã lại ghét cơ thể bởi vì nó không chấp nhận cái ý tưởng rằng cơ thể là đủ TỐT ĐẸP để làm căn nhà của nó. Đây là chỗ mà tâm trí trở nên thực sự rối mù. Được cái ngã bảo rằng nó thực sự là một phần của cơ thể và rằng cơ thể là người bảo vệ cho nó, tâm trí cũng thường xuyên được thông báo rằng cơ thể KHÔNG thể bảo vệ nó. Cái này, dĩ nhiên, không chỉ chính xác mà còn hoàn toàn hiển nhiên.

Vì thế tâm trí hỏi, "Tôi có thể tìm sự bảo vệ ở đâu?", mà nghe vậy cái ngã đáp lời, "Quay sang ta." Tâm trí, không phải là không có nguyên do, nhắc nhở cái ngã rằng chính bản thân nó khăng khăng nói rằng nó chính LÀ cơ thể (đồng nhất với cơ thể), vì thế chuyện quay sang nó để tìm sự bảo vệ là vô nghĩa. Cái ngã không có câu trả lời thực sự cho chuyện này bởi vì chẳng CÓ câu trả lời nào, nhưng nó CÓ một giải pháp điển hình. Nó xóa bỏ CÂU HỎI khỏi sự nhận biết của tâm trí. Một khi đi vào vô thức, câu hỏi này có thể và thực sự tạo ra sự không thoải mái, nhưng nó không thể được trả lời bới vì nó không thể được hỏi ra.

Healing and Wholeness

To heal is to make happy. I have told you before to think how many opportunities you have to gladden yourselves, and how many you have refused. This is exactly the same as telling you that you have refused to heal yourselves. The light that belongs to you is the light of joy. Radiance is not associated with sorrow. Depression is often contagious, but although it may affect those who come in contact with it, they do not yield to the influence whole-heartedly. But joy calls forth an integrated willingness to share in it, and thus promotes the mind’s natural impulse TO RESPOND AS ONE.

Those who attempt to heal without being wholly joyous themselves call forth different kinds of responses at the same time, and thus deprive others of the joy of responding whole-heartedly. To be whole-hearted, you MUST be happy. If fear and love cannot coexist, and if it is impossible to be wholly fearful and remain alive, then the only possible whole state IS that of love. There is no difference between love and joy. Therefore, the only possible whole state is the wholly joyous. To heal or to make joyous is therefore the same as to integrate and to MAKE ONE.


Chữa lành và Tính toàn vẹn

Chữa lành là tạo niềm vui. Trước đây ta đã bảo ngươi nghĩ xem đã bao nhiêu cơ hội ngươi làm bản thân mình vui lên, và bao nhiêu lần ngươi đã từ chối. Chính xác thì cũng giống như nói với ngươi rằng ngươi đã từ chối chữa lành cho chính bản thân mình. Cái ánh sáng thuộc về ngươi là ánh sáng của niềm vui. Sự tỏa sáng không đi cùng với nỗi sầu khổ. Muộn phiền thường mang tính lây lan, nhưng mặc dù nó có thể tác động tới những kẻ tới tiếp xúc với nó, họ cũng không chịu sự ảnh hưởng này một cách toàn tâm toàn ý. Để toàn tâm toàn ý, ngươi PHẢI hạnh phúc. Nếu sợ hãi và yêu thương không thể cùng tồn tại, và nếu không thể nào có chuyện sợ hãi toàn phần mà vẫn còn sống, thì trạng thái trọn vẹn duy nhất có thể có chính là trạng thái của yêu thương. Không có sự khác nhau nào giữa yêu thương và vui sướng. Vì lẽ đó, trạng thái trọn vẹn duy nhất có khả năng xảy ra là vui sướng trọn vẹn. We said before that illness is a form of magic. It might be better to say that it is a form of magical solution. The ego believes that by punishing ITSELF it will mitigate the punishment of God. Yet even in this it is arrogant. It attributes to God a punishing intent, and then takes over this intent as its OWN prerogative. It tries to usurp ALL the functions of God as it perceives them because it recognizes that only total allegiance can be trusted.


Chúng ta đã nói lúc trước rằng bệnh tật là một dạng của ma thuật. Có thể nói đúng hơn nó là một dạng giải pháp mang tính ma thuật. Cái ngã tin rằng bằng cách trừng phạt BẢN THÂN nó sẽ làm giảm nhẹ sự trừng phạt của Chúa. Thế nhưng ngay cả trong việc này nó cũng cao ngạo. Guilt feelings are the PRESERVERS of time. They induce fears of future retaliation or abandonment, and thus ensure that the future will remain like the past. This is the ego’s continuity, and gives it a false sense of security through the belief that you cannot escape from it. But you can and MUST. God offers you the continuity of eternity in exchange. When you choose to make this exchange, you will simultaneously exchange guilt for joy, viciousness for love, and pain for peace. My role is only to unchain your will and make it free. Your ego cannot accept this freedom, and will oppose your free decision at every possible moment and in every possible way. And as its maker, you recognize what it can do because you GAVE it the power to do it.

The mind does indeed know its power, because the mind does indeed know God. Remember the Kingdom always, and remember that you who are part of the Kingdom CANNOT be lost. The mind that was in me IS in you, for God creates with perfect fairness. Let the Holy Spirit remind you always of His fairness, and let me teach you how to share it with your brothers. How else can the chance to claim it for yourself be given you? What you do not understand is that the two voices speak for different interpretations of the same thing simultaneously, or almost simultaneously, for the ego always speaks first. Alternate interpretations were unnecessary until the first one was made, and speaking itself was unnecessary before the ego was made.

The ego speaks in judgement and the Holy Spirit reverses its decisions, much as the Supreme Court has the power to reverse the lower courts’ decisions about the laws of this world. The ego’s decisions are ALWAYS wrong because they are based on a complete fallacy which they were made to uphold. NOTHING the ego perceives is interpreted correctly. Not only does it cite Scripture for its purpose but it even interprets Scripture as a witness for itself. The Bible is a fearful thing to the ego because of its prejudiced judgement. Perceiving it as fearful, it interprets it fearfully. Having made YOU afraid, you do not appeal to the Higher Court because you believe its judgement would be AGAINST you. We need cite only a few examples to see how the ego’s interpretations have misled you. A favorite ego quotation is “As ye sow, so shall ye reap.” Another is “Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord.” Still another is “I will visit the sins of the father unto the third and fourth generation,” and also “The wicked shall perish.”There are many others, but if you will let the Holy Spirit re-interpret these in His own light, they will suffice.

“As ye sow, so shall ye reap” merely means that what you believe to be worth cultivating you will cultivate in yourself. Your judgement of what is worthy MAKES it worthy for you.

“Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord” is easily explained if you remember that ideas increase only by being shared. This quotation therefore emphasizes the fact that vengeance CANNOT be shared. Give it therefore to the Holy Spirit, Who will undo it in you because it does not belong in your mind, which is part of God.

“I will visit the sins of the fathers unto the third and fourth generation,” as interpreted by the ego, is particularly vicious. It is used, in fact, as an attempt to guarantee its survival beyond itself. Actually, all the quotation means is that the Holy Spirit, in later generations, retains the power to interpret CORRECTLY what former generations have thought, and thus release THEIR thoughts from the ability to produce fear anywhere in the Sonship.

“The wicked shall perish” is merely a statement of fact, if the word “perish” is properly understood. Every loveless thought MUST be undone. Even the word “undone” is fearful to the ego, which interprets “I am undone” as “I am destroyed.”

The ego will NOT be destroyed because it is part of your thought, but because it is uncreative, and therefore unsharing, it WILL be re-interpreted entirely, to release you from fear. The part of your thought which you have given to the ego will merely return to the Kingdom where your whole mind BELONGS.

There have been many healers who did not heal themselves. They have not moved mountains by their faith because their faith was not whole. Some of them have healed the sick at times, but they have not raised the dead. Unless the healer heals HIMSELF he does NOT believe that there is no order of difficulty in miracles. He has not learned that EVERY mind God created is equally worthy of being healed BECAUSE GOD CREATED IT WHOLE. You are merely asked to return to God the mind as HE created it. He asks you only for what He gave, knowing that this giving will heal you. Sanity IS wholeness, and the sanity of your brothers IS yours.

Từng có nhiều người chữa bệnh đã không chữa chính bản thân mình. Họ đã không rời được núi bằng niềm tin của mình bởi lẽ niềm tin của họ không trọn vẹn. Một số họ đã chữa khỏi người bệnh, đôi khi, nhưng họ không làm được cho người chết sống lại. If the mind can heal the body but the body cannot heal the mind, then the mind must be STRONGER. Every miracle demonstrates this.


Nếu tâm trí có thể chữa lành cho cơ thể nhưng cơ thể không thể chữa lành cho tâm trí, vậy thì tâm trí hẳn phải là MẠNH HƠN. Mọi phép lạ thể hiện điều này.

When a brother perceives himself as sick, he is perceiving himself as NOT WHOLE, and therefore IN NEED. If you, too, see him this way, you are seeing him as if he were absent from the Kingdom or separated from it, thus making the Kingdom itself obscure to BOTH of you. Sickness and separation are not of God, but the Kingdom is. If you obscure the Kingdom, you are perceiving what is NOT OF GOD.

Khi một người anh em nhìn nhận bản thân là ốm bệnh, anh ta đang nhận thức mình KHÔNG PHẢI như TOÀN THỂ, và vì thế CẦN SỰ GIÚP ĐỠ. Healing is the way in which the separation is overcome. Separation is overcome by UNION. It cannot be overcome by separating.

Chữa lành là cách làm mà trong đó sự chia cắt được vượt qua. Chia cắt được vượt qua bằng HỢP NHẤT. Nó không thể vượt qua bằng chia cắt được.
